When I line my waste containers, I double bag. Saves time when collecting garbage for the outside bin used for weekly pick up.

I just discovered another quick and easy recipe, especially good for autumn! It's a pumpkin cake. All you need to do is empty a regular can of pumpkin puree into dry spice cake mix. Mix a few minutes and spread in a square pan. I like to spray oil on the bottom of the pan first. Then bake about 25-30 min at 350. Done! The flavor is amazing and it's moist! No egg! No Water! No oil!

I get it. Something that may help you is giving yourself something called a "false deadline." This acts like a deadline, but is more of a personal deadline...one you set yourself. So, if the real deadline is October 31st, you can set your false deadline as October 21st. Something else that may help is determining around how much time something is going to take. Let's say you determine 4 hours. You can then break that project down into sixteen 15 minute-sessions and schedule all of those on your calendar. Treat those 15 minute time slots just as you would any other important appointment (to work on your project.) Hope this helps a bit.

Procrastinating until the last minute. I spend a lot of time and energy putting things off then racing the clock to get things done. I used to say that I thrive under pressure but really I don’t, I just don’t utilize my time appropriately.

Hi Margaret, Thanks so much for popping in.
Yes, decluttering does take time and energy, especially when health problems are involved. Just do a little bit each day and you'll get there. Even 20 minutes of decluttering each day and you'll begin to see progress.
I enjoy cooking and new recipes as well. I just made Arancini di Riso (Italian Rice Balls) for the first time. That was a fun, delicious recipe!
It is so fun hearing about your granddaughters and their missions! That is just amazing.
Wishing you a very warm welcome!

Hello, My name is Margaret. I have been following GON for a long time. My main goal is to clear my house of clutter and get organized. My husband and I both have health problems. He is in his 70's and I will be 70 next year. I do not want to leave the mess behind for our children/grandchildren to take care of after we pass. We have had to do that for both of our families, and it is very time consuming. I love learning about new things. I enjoy cooking and new recipes. My granddaughters are the joy of my life. They are both teachers and are looking into going into the mission field in Africa when there teaching commitment is up. Looking forward to getting to know each other and learning more here. Thank you gor this opportunity.

I just love that you're thinking about Thanksgiving now...awesome! Good idea to buy that tablecloth in a neutral color...I love that. One tablecloth; many purposes. Happy decorating! Fall is such a beautiful season. I'll be pulling my fall decor out this weekend as well.

For Thanksgiving plans:
I have a new tablecloth, in a neutral color. That way I can change it up with napkins, runners, and placemats to go with the season/occasion.
The fall wreath is on the door.
Fall decorations are brought down, and am sorting them to see what we can still use.
Have not gone over the recipes much yet; I hope turkeys won't be hard to find this year!

Isn't it amazing how much we can get done when the kids are in school?!
You have quite the list of TO DOs...all excellent. I will be very excited to hear about your successes...and hopefully "before" and "after" shots of your craft room!

I finished the cupboards and the kids are in school. Today, I am designing mock-ups on the computer, it’ll take a few afternoons, but then that will be done.
- The craft room is staring me down, hopefully I get a chance to make a dent in it soon!
- meal plan is coming along but we’ve been intentional about shopping the freezer.
Adding to the list:
- wash outside windows before it gets too cold
- pull out flowers and put the pots to bed for the winter
- put away hoses, etc
- trim around trees and trim down bushes
