May goal was to fill my new kitchen & reorganize my pantry which was done. Felt so good about it I moved onto the entertainment center, it was holding my dishes, so I totally emptied it, reset it & now there is room in the cupboard below. So…

May Goal: go thru the 2 totes with 2 years of: paperwork, letters, cards, little things that “I’ll deal with later” “where shall I hang this?” Address of places I might like to visit, etc.

Online news, my Newsfeed is very eclectic which then sends me down rabbit holes where I can spend holes just reading “stuff”

I am currently out of the country visiting the most wonderful son & grandson, then up to visit friends & then up to see my mom where I will be continuing the sort totes remaining from my move of 2 years ago. Mostly memories left that have sentimental value. Hoping to go thru some photo albums, need to shop for items I use that are unavailable in my new country & of course do all the medical appts that come with age 🤣 at home my sink is being connected so I will have a sink, water & a counter after 27 months in my kitchen.

I moved to Belize 6 weeks before the country closed it's land/sea/air borders. Air port opened after 5 months, sea opened in July 2021, land borders opened limited hours Feb. 7, 2022. I arrived with 3 suitcases. We have been under a curfew since April 2020, the times change every 30 days, limited access to services, limited social gatherings/entrance to buildings, closed restaurants/activities...my days were filled with remodeling my house, landscaping my yard, but now I am pretty much done & my days are pretty empty. so my problem is filling my time. My previous hobbies I am unable to access supplies for here, social interactions are still very limited, places are gradually reopening, but limited hours & access remain, keeping up my home & yard takes limited time-little house, natural setting for yard, so I am struggling to fill my time.My little village has limited opportunities & gas prices are extremely high. Seems very weird to me to have th eopposite of what I used to have, free time rather than needing time.

The lower cabinet for my kitchen is in. There was a mixup with the contractor & ordering of the countertop-was reordered last week so hopefully end of next week will be done. February Goals: countertop in, sink hookup, dishes moved from various places to floating shelves & cabinet filled, wash house 2nd shelf built, painted & filled, garden tools sorted better in wash house & shelf pantry reorganized. Still looking for a stove “not in country” is the current reason I do not have one…

After 22 months I am getting a kitchen, so will be taking the dishes from the entertainment center, the food from the bookcase, the dog food from containers on the floor, the coffee maker & rice cooker from the table, the cleaning supplies from next to the fridge on the floor & organizing my lower cabinet & upper floating shelves when they are installed later this month. Also will be building, painting & putting shelving (2j into my wash house to get my laundry stuff, painting, pest control & gardening stuff out of piles on the floor from around the washing machine. Wish me luck that my contractors come through for the month!

UPDATE: wallpaper & floating shelves are up, lower cabinet built & delivered. Waiting on counter top & sink to arrive. Designed & bought lumber for 2 shelving units for wash house - hoping this week to measure, cut, build & start painting. Rain has hampered project, I don’t have a garage.

Hello, I currently live in Belize, been her 2 years on the 20th of this month. Have been following w this site for many years, use the monthly calendar every month (with adaptations since I live alone). When I was downsizing to move internationally I came across printed out (yes, I used to print out the monthly calendars) from the late 2000s! They were shredded & recycled. I live in a cinder lock 347 square foot house in a jungle where things rust, mold & rot quickly. Makes it much easier to live minimally. Still have items in the USA I need to finish sorting through, but COVID-19 derailed travel plans. Hopefully in April I can get back there & go through more stuff. Looking forward to learning & sharing. Ali
