MommaJo, I enjoyed reading your post. It sounds very much like me.

I have been reading and buying things from Maria - GON for so long, I can't remember how I found GON initially.
Decluttering Goals, Challenges and Ideas » June 2022 Organizing Goals and Successes » 5/25/2022 8:03 pm |
My May goal was to begin clearing out our two-car garage so that we can get BOTH our cars in the garage. It has been a lot of work and I found a lot of things to get rid of. So my June decluttering goal is to keep working on the garage and getting rid of excess stuff. I got about halfway done. The Goodwill store knows me by name now since I have seen them so often this month, I am finding things I forgot I had. I have let go of a lot of things that I didn't think I could part with, things that I paid a pretty penny for and then didn't use. As I am working, I can hear Maria's voice in my mind telling me to just do a small amount at a time but it is really adding up. I can't wait to finish and then start decluttering inside the house.
Good luck to all of you.

We have two cars and a two-car garage. Only one car fits in the garage. My goal for May: Clean out the clutter so that I can get my car in the garage before it gets really hot (I live in Las Vegas, NV). I have emptied several containers already and have a good start on organizing but there is still much, much to do. I just make sure I do something every day.
Decluttering Goals, Challenges and Ideas » March Organizing Goals » 3/04/2022 4:20 pm |
My March goal is to reduce the amount of clothes and shoes I have.
I am off to a good start. I rounded up about 10 pairs of shoes that I haven't worn in a long time. One pair is an Uggs short boot which I have only worn twice. They are in excellent condition but they are very, very difficult to put on and to take off. It is extremely hard to let go of them. They were expensive and I love them and they fit nicely once I got them on. But, I painfully put them in my To Donate box and hopefully I won't remove them before I get the box to Goodwill. A couple of the other pairs have high heels. My hips and knees are giving me trouble so I am unable to wear them. They, too, are hard to give up but I am determined to declutter.

Hi Maria, In answer to your question about my collections and whether or not I have them on display:
Some are on display (i.e. my Longaberger Baskets), others are packed away (i.e. my small glass vases) waiting for me to organize them and some are in a middle stage of organizing/displaying them (i.e. my Miniature Perfume Bottles).
I wish I had more time to work on them but I am learning from your publications how to find extra time to do so.
Thanks so much for the help!

My March goal is to reduce the amount of clothes and shoes I have. I am trying to get rid of those items I never wear and those that don't fit due to weight loss (I have a tendency to keep these in case I gain the weight back - but I am determined not to let that happen.)
Decluttering Goals, Challenges and Ideas » February Organizing Goals » 2/26/2022 5:49 pm |
My February goal was to get my 2021 tax papers together before the end of the month. I am usually late in getting them ready (the first part of April) but this year I have been more organized so it is falling into place on time.

Hi everyone! My name is Judy. I am 67 years old, a wife, a mother of 2, and grandmother of 3 (one set of twins). I enjoy reading Maria's newsletters and her Anything and Everything publication. I have a couple of her products and like to keep things up to date.
I try to keep things organized and uncluttered but I have a lot of collections (Longaberger Baskets, Miniature Perfume Bottles, Miniature/Replicas of Children's toys from past years, Hallmark Christmas Ornaments, Vases, Tins, and many other things that are tiny or little).
I love to take road trips to visit family, I like to read and I enjoy managing my collections. I look forward to reading everyone's posts.
